June 8, 2018Notice of nomination and election mailed to all eligible voters and posted at seiu503.org.
June 25, 2018Nominations open online at seiu503.org
August 3, 2018Nominations close and voter guide statements (400 word limit) and candidate head-and-shoulder pictures due by 5:00 p.m. online at seiu503.org. All voter statements received on time will be posted at seiu503.org within five (5) business days of receipt.
August 14, 2018Candidate statements (400 word limit) and candidate head-and-shoulder pictures to be included with the ballots must be submitted online by 5:00 p.m. at seiu503.org
September 7, 2018Ballots and candidate statements mailed by Ryder Elections to all eligible voters. Candidate statements posted on seiu503.org in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin and Russian.
September 26, 2018Ballots due to Ryder Elections, PO Box 7710, Bend OR 97708 by 12:00 p.m. Noon. Ballot processing begins at Ryder Elections. Ballots are only accepted by mail.
September 27, 2018 (approximately)Election certification and candidate notification will occur at the completion of the ballot count which may take up to 3 days. After candidate notification has been completed the election results will be posted at seiu503.org
November 16, 2018SWO and BOD Installation event, Portland SEIU 503 Office.

Any SEIU 503 active or semi-active member in good standing may run for Statewide Office, Director or Assistant Director and any SEIU 503 active, semi-active, or staff member in good standing may run for Executive Director.

Statewide Officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Director are elected in statewide elections held every two (2) years.

Board of Directors: Our Board of Directors oversees and makes policy decisions for our union between General Councils. Our Board includes Statewide Officers, the Retiree President, Retiree Vice President, Directors and Assistant Directors. Eleven (11) Directors and eleven (11) Assistant Directors are elected by sector, and twelve (12) Directors and twelve (12) Assistant Directors are elected by geographic region. NOTE: Nomination forms are available online on June 25, 2018 at seiu503.org. Nominations, candidate statements and photos may be completed and submitted online at seiu503.org.

If you don’t have access to a computer, we suggest accessing a computer at your local library, at an SEIU 503 office, or using a friend’s computer. Any eligible candidate can access a computer at SEIU 503 offices during regular office hours for purposes of completing the nomination form. In the event you are unable to access a computer, you may request a hardcopy of the nominations form by contacting your local SEIU 503 field office.

Initial SWO and BOD nomination, candidate statements and candidate photos are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018. Nominations, candidate statements and photos must be completed and submitted online at seiu503.org. Statements are limited to 400 words. Candidate photos will be published online, along with their voter guide statement, and will also be published with the voter pamphlet candidate statement that is mailed with the ballot.

Voter pamphlet candidate statements (400 word limit) and photo to mail with ballots are due on August 14, 2018, by 5:00 p.m. at seiu503.org.
