Members Win First Ever Childcare Contract
December 6 was an historic day for SEIU Local 503, OPEU members when childcare workers signed their first contract. This is a victory that belongs to every member. Together, we helped 5000 more workers take a big step forward in the fight for fair wages, quality benefits and dignity and respect on the job. Congratulations and well done everyone!
Care Givers Meet
Homecare workers, Nursing Home workers and Childcare providers gathered Dec 16 in Portland for the first Care Givers Conference. Members shared experiences, discussed bargaining proposals and mapped out strategies for the 2007 Oregon legislative session.
DAS/OUS Contract
Over 240 State and Higher Ed members met in Turner December 15 to hammer out bargaining proposals and set a course for victory in the 2007 - 2009 contract campaign. Check with your elected bargaining delegates, stewards or local officers to find out what you can do to help.
Make a Difference in 2007
The Oregon Legislature convenes January 8 in Salem. Lobby Days are our best opportunity to speak directly with state representatives and senators and make a difference. Contact your organizer, steward or any officer to find out how you can sign up to help legislators understand what matters to members and working families.
