This month, the SEIU 503 retiree sub local hosted an event to mark the anniversary of the 1987 Rolling Strike. The strike was so effective and so strategic that the state immediately outlawed the tactic. But the showdown with the state helped public employees win big, and it propelled our union into the position of power that we hold today.
