Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a 4-4 decision in U.S. v. Texas, effectively blocking President Obama’s executive action expanding DACA and implementing DAPA. These programs would have allowed millions of immigrant families to remain and work in the country without fear of deportation and separation from their families. Last week’s decision was a major setback.

Fortunately, the fight for immigration justice is far from over. SEIU members in Oregon and across the country will remain at the front lines, committed to defending the immigration initiatives and paving the path to lasting immigration reform.

Just like we faced the decision in Harris vs. Quinn with a determination that no court case will stop us from building power for working people, we are not going to let this decision stop our determination to win immigration justice.
