Support Quality Public Services in Curry County

Curry County employees are the lowest paid county employees in the state. Low pay leads to high turnover and reduced service quality. The County was due to negotiate pay and benefits in February of this year, but the County Board is now asking members to hold off on negotiations until January of 2019 — once again leaving their wages and benefits far behind employees in Counties throughout the state. We can't deliver quality public services to our neighbors in Curry County when we are short-staffed and underpaid. Many Curry County employees are forced to work a second job just to make ends meet.

Please take action today: ask County Commissioners settle a fair contract.

This petition will be sent to Curry County Commissioners Court Boice, Sue Gold, and Tom Huxley.

Dear Curry County Commissioners

I support quality public services in Curry County, and I am writing to you today to urge you to settle a fair contract with Curry County employees. Curry County workers are the lowest-paid county employees in the state. Many are forced to take second jobs just to make ends meet. In order to continue delivering quality services in Curry County, we need fair pay to recruit and retain the best quality employees, to ensure safe staffing levels and continue delivering quality public services. I urge you to help these employees take an important step in moving forward with the County.
