Introducing a Knowledge Base for Homecare & Personal Support Workers
When we talk to care providers we frequently hear that it’s challenging to navigate DHS. Vouchers, benefits, union contract…people have a lot of questions and the State of Oregon doesn’t always do a great job of answering them. Our Union can help. That’s why we’re so excited to launch a Knowledge Base for Homecare & Personal Support Workers. This website, which is available in English, Spanish and Russian, answers the most frequently asked questions about homecare and personal support work in Oregon. Please have a look! We would also like your feedback on the new Knowledge Base. Click here to let us know what you think and leave suggestions for how we can improve this new tool.
Civil & Human Rights Conference, March 28. Join us!
The Civil and Human Rights Committee promotes and monitors the union’s commitment to equal employment opportunity and administers the Latinx, Indigenous, Asian/Desi/Pacific Islander, Lavender (LGBTQA+) and the African/American caucuses to build a strong power base for pursuing issues of cultural diversity. Our conference is where we lay the foundation for this work. Join the Civil and Human Rights Committee, plus our caucuses, at this conference to promote the union’s commitment to equal employment opportunity and building a strong power base for pursuing issues of cultural diversity.
The conference will include workshops led by each of the CHRC Caucuses, including African American Caucus, Asian/Desi/Pacific Islander Caucus, Indigenous Caucus, Latinx Caucus, and Lavender Caucus. In addition, conference attendees will see content created by the Climate Change Committee, the Women’s Council and SEIU 503’s Political Department.
