Solve 5 puzzles with clues hidden throughout the event venue to win gamification points in the event app! Additional prizes for the first team to finish.

To claim your points at the end of the hunt, you will need the SEIU 503 General Council 2024 event app. Download and install the app here.

Clues will be released throughout the event.

  • The first puzzle will be live as soon as registration opens at 9am on Thursday August 1.
  • The second puzzle will be published at 6am on Friday August 2.
  • The third puzzle will be published at 5:30pm on Friday August 2.
  • The fourth puzzle will be published at 6am on Saturday August 3.
  • The fifth puzzle will be published at 5pm on Saturday August 3.

Everybody who completes the hunt will get a code to submit the gamification challenge in the event app for 500 points. Teaming up is encouraged — teams of up to 3 participants can claim the ‘first 5 finders’ (100-point) bonus if you complete the hunt together.

The first team to complete all five puzzles and find the final location will also get vouchers for the purple store for swag items of their choice (up to $25 value per person; max of 3 people per team).

Each clue will lead you to a physical location in the event venue, where you will either search for a QR code with a link the next clue, OR you will answer questions about the location and enter the answers in the app to get your next clue.

The final location has a physical container that you must find and open to get the code to validate the event app challenge.

Tips for a successful search

  • Several puzzles will be a lot easier to complete with a compass and a calculator. If you don’t have these apps on your phone, download them before you start.
  • Several puzzles require you to keep track of a few numbers as you answer questions, and then add them together to get the final solution. Consider using a notes app on your phone or pencil and paper to keep track of your answers as you go.
  • If you solve a puzzle and get the link to the next one, but the next one has not been published yet, you may want to bookmark the page in your browser, or save the link to a notes app so you can come back to it after it’s published.
  • Team up! The puzzles will be easier to solve, and more fun, if you do them as a group. Teams of up to 3 people can claim prizes together, so if your group is larger than that you will need to split up to claim any prizes.
  • Read all the instructions carefully before attempting to solve a puzzle. If you enter the wrong answer, no problem — you can always reload the page and try again.

Happy hunting! If you need help or a hint, message Sarah Schneider on the General Council event app.
