Congratulations to bargaining team members Christina Hanson, Joe Daunt, Adam Korst, and John Rhodes for leading a campaign for a strong contract at the City of Beaverton! Simply put, this contract was won through the strength of collective actions taken by membership. Nearly 70 percent of members got engaged however they could whether it was through participating online through petitions and surveys and/or taking part in actions and rallies at City Hall and with the Mayor.

Highlights of the agreement include:

  • 2.25 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) during year one, and COLAs consistent with the consumer price index (CPI) during years two and three with a floor of 2 percent
  • Maintained 100 percent employer premium coverage of Kaiser plans with cost reductions for part-time employees and certain qualifying prescriptions
  • Protected their MODA health plan from proposed cuts and improved the co-insurance while negotiating a transition to a 95/5 percent premium split
  • Established 80 hours of paid parental leave for eligible employees
  • Members won a 1 percent increase to the employer contribution on their tax-free trust for eligible medical expenses

And much, much more!
