In the coming months, we will begin negotiating a new contract for in-home care providers. Tens of thousands of in-home care providers are gearing up to bargain our next Union contract with the state of Oregon in 2025.  We’re fighting to raise wages, protect healthcare, boost worker protections, and strengthen long-term care for both care providers and the people we serve.

Our elected SEIU 503 bargaining team wants to hear from YOU! Next week, all eligible homecare and personal support members should receive a bargaining survey in your email. As SEIU members, it’s our right and responsibility to share what’s important to us and our families in the work we do.

By completing the bargaining survey, you’ll help set our priorities for our next contract and support our work for better homecare services and good Union jobs. Together, we can make a real difference.

Member Virtual Town Hall Meeting Next Week

Join us next week for an all-member Town Hall discussion as we talk about our work ahead in 2025. We’ll talk about how this year’s elections will impact SEIU 503 members, our new affiliation with AFL-CIO, bargaining and more. Steward Training Extravaganza!

Earlier this month, more than 100 member stewards and members interested in becoming a steward participated in an SEIU 503 Steward Training Extravaganza, with trainings held across the state in Portland, Salem, Eugene, Medford and for those who needed an online option, over Zoom.

The event was truly representative of Oregon and our Union: members from 20 counties across the state joined from the following sectors: Homecare, State, Higher Ed, Local Governments and Nursing Homes.

Stewards serve a critical function in our Union, ensuring workers’ voices are heard and our rights are protected. They stand up for workers, resolving workplace issues and making sure management follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

The training was so well-received and successful that another Steward Training Extravaganza is in the works for April of 2025.
