This year, our union has shown what solidarity is.
We helped save a member’s job when their boss treated them unfairly.
We won better pay for thousands of workers.
We even stood together to help someone who was wrongly taken into ICE custody get released.
Because we stick together, we can win for workers. Although our backgrounds are very different – our upbringings, where we live, the jobs we do, ethnicities, languages we speak, races, political leanings – we all agree on one thing: when workers join together, we show our power on the job and in our communities.
On Labor Day, we celebrate what we’ve built. But we also face real threats.
- Elected officials are playing politics with people’s jobs, like our ODOT workers.
- Some want to weaken our right to join a union or make it harder for us to speak out.
- Immigrant families—our neighbors, co-workers, and friends—live in fear.
- Big corporations and billionaires keep getting richer while working people struggle to pay rent, put food on the table, and care for their families.
That’s why this Labor Day we’re launching our campaign: Families First, Not Billionaires.
Enough is enough. Billionaires don’t run this country—we do. It’s working people who make this country run, every single day.
We demand a future where:
- Wages cover the cost of living
- Health care and prescriptions don’t drive families into debt
- Every worker has the right to join a union
- And more!
We’re fed up with a system where billionaires hoard wealth while we fight for basic dignity. We refuse to let politicians and CEOs slash care, scapegoat immigrants, raid public dollars, and divide working people for profit.
Together, we’ll keep building a country that puts families first. Take Action today to tell Congress, Families First, Not Billionaires.
