This weekend many Oregonians will be voting in the January 23 special election on healthcare. At issue is Measure 101, a fee on hospitals and insurance companies that will fund Medicaid for 1 million Oregonians, including 400,000 children, who rely on the program for healthcare.
SEIU Local 503 is proud to join a coalition of more than 160 organizations endorsing a YES on Measure 101. Voting YES will:
- Protect funding for Medicaid
- Protect healthcare coverage for 1 million people, including 400,000 kids
- Protect healthcare for homecare workers, personal support workers, and consumers on the Oregon Health Plan
- Protect the state budget from yet another revenue crisis and prevent cuts that could impact state, local government, and university workers
- Protect funding for 20,000 healthcare jobs in hospitals, assisted living facilities, and in-home care and personal support work
SEIU members understand the stakes are high on Measure 101, and we’re hitting the streets to talk to our neighbors and make sure everyone knows to vote YES by January 23.
