Bargaining Update

Alice Redding

We want to welcome longtime SEIU 503 member Alice Redding to the 2023 Homecare Bargaining Team! Alice was previously an alternate and is now serving in an official capacity.

SEIU 503 Homecare Bargaining team members had a productive session with state management this week, with the state submitting counters to our proposals and the state deferring to new policies and provider guidelines that may be implemented at a later date. 

We reached a temporary agreement on Article 17, which relates to Authorized Services, Agreements, and Plans for Homecare Workers, Personal Support Workers, and Personal Care Attendants (PCAs), with clearer definitions for PCAs.  

We had a discussion about pay scales and passed counter proposals related to retirement security, no discrimination policy, service payments and overpayments, and union rights for local office bulletin board use.
