Nursing home workers bargain over wages, benefits, and workplace conditions like safety, PPE, staffing and more.

Meet your 2023 bargaining team

SEIU 503 is a member-run union. Members elect a bargaining team of their peers every two years. With legal, negotiation and logistical support from union staff, your bargaining team fights to make sure your priorities are reflected in the final contract.

Key issues for 2024

Nursing Home members will begin completing bargaining surveys soon, to identify and prioritize issues for our next round of contract negotiations. In the past, members have identified wages as the #1 issue, including longevity bonuses for experienced CNAs and shift differentials. Other important issues are staffing, healthcare, and a way to bargain with our employers over emergent issues that affect us, like health and safety concerns. Our bargaining team will use the results of the 2024 surveys to guide and prioritize the proposals we present to management in this round of negotiations.
