RE: ELECTION INFORMATION OVERVIEW
The Statewide Officer (SWO) and Board of Director (BOD) elections will be held following the biennial session of the General Council at a time designated by the Statewide Officer and Board of Directors Election Committee. Nomination forms will be made available to eligible members no later than the last Monday in June of the election year and nominations will close at 5:00pm on the Friday before General Council.
Union officers (including SWO and BOD) are covered by the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA) a Federal Labor Law that sets guidelines for the conduct of officer elections. These elections must also conform to procedures and rules set out in SEIU Local 503, OPEU governing documents. Please make yourself familiar with those procedures and rules (see Bylaws, Article XV — Elections — available at seiu503.org) as well as the information in this packet.
