Where in the home stretch for Oregon’s November 8th General Election! From the threat of anti-worker candidates Christine Drazan and spoiler Betsy Johnson in the Governor’s race, to the need to maintain pro-worker majorities in both chambers of the legislature and elect a BOLI (Bureau of Labor & Industry) Commissioner who shares our values, there’s a lot on the line for SEIU 503 members.

Our members live across our state, come from different backgrounds, speak dozens of languages, and represent the entire political spectrum. What brings us together is our shared desire for fair contracts, protecting and expanding worker rights, and living in a state where every worker – Black, white, or brown, rural or urban – can join a union and let their voice be heard.

Ballots have clear choices for critical races that will determine whether Oregon will continue to be the national leader in worker power or give power to corporations and the extremely wealthy. As a union that represents 72,000 working Oregonians, we’re going to do everything we can to fight for working families. We need to elect champions who will fight for fair contracts that raise wages and protect our benefits, pass staffing bills, increase union jobs, and respect workers.

SEIU 503 members endorsed candidates who share our values and will fight for us, and we’ll be knocking on doors and calling voters to help these pro-worker champions win on November 8th. Will you join us? Please register for canvass and phonebank shifts that will help make a difference in this critical election, and invite your coworkers, family, and friends to join us in our fight for working people.
