At the SEIU Local 503 General Council held in August 2022, the elected delegates to General Council voted to increase the number of Board members who are client-employed providers or who work at a private homecare agency so that the SEIU Local 503 Board of Directors better represents the number of homecare, personal support, and personal care attendants in our Union. At General Council, the delegates also voted to adopt ranked choice voting for Board of Director elections. The ballot will be published in multiple languages to promote access for all members to participate in our Union.

As a result of this change to our Union’s Bylaws, a special ranked choice vote election will be held to elect three (3) additional Board Directors and three (3) additional Assistant Directors who are members employed as client-employed providers or at private homecare agencies. You must be a member eligible under the Union’s Bylaws by the close of nominations on Nov. 11, 2022, in order to be eligible to nominate, run for office, or to vote. Those elected to office will be installed at the next scheduled Board of Directors meeting following election and their term will end in 2024 in accordance with Bylaws, Art. XI, Section 1. For more information regarding the duties of Directors and Assistant Directors, see the SEIU Local 503 Bylaws online at www.seiu503.org/members/get-involved/leadership-governance/bylaws/
