SEIU Local 503’s Executive Director Melissa Unger and President Steve Demarest held a “tele-town hall” recently, which members were invited to participate in over a conference phone call, to discuss what was in store for the union for the rest of the year.  This included important topics in bargaining for both public services, including state and higher education workers, as well as for Homecare and Personal Support Workers.  A big topic of discussion here was about ongoing fight to secure revenue, which we just won in a historic state bill, as well as the next step of ensuring public services are funded.

This discussion centered on the upcoming May 20th rally to fund public services where public services and Homecare members from across the state will be coming to the State Capitol to make sure their voices are heard!  Join us on Monday, May 20th to make sure that the legislators in Salem know that Oregonians care about quality public services, including fully funding the Child Welfare Department!
