Respect the people who keep campus running

The top administrators at Oregon’s seven public universities are asking their lowest paid employees to take a major pay cut. Workers have called their latest proposal, “disrespectful.”

Under the proposal, workers would see their take home pay cut by up to $250.77 per month. When you make close to minimum wage, that’s a disaster. These cuts will put members of our community into fragile economic positions, some will be forced to go on Medicaid to keep their families healthy, and some will leave to find a higher paying job.

The people who run our libraries, support our IT infrastructure, work in food services or janitorial services, and do dozens of other critical jobs on campus deserve respect.

Show your support for workers as they begin their campaign to bargain a fair contract with the University.
