WHAT MATTERS?
I turned from talking to my neighbor, a nurse . . .
six fellow-nurses infected,
the heat of face shields
and heavy gowns,
a difficulty at rest room breaks,
rest room breaks difficult to get . . .
glanced at the troublesome PC,
anxiety about the down-internet;
can’t use Bill Pay;
need to reply to letters . . .
What matters?
Turned to the kitchen,
am I getting breakfast quickly
enough to start the busy day,
shall I exercise now;
will there be time later,
are those bills urgent;
can I write checks later,
What really matters?
