SEIU 503 members believe in a society that values the contributions of aspiring citizens and recognizes the integral role that new Americans play in our past, present and future. Our union supports comprehensive immigration reform that provides a clear roadmap to citizenship for hard-working, taxpaying immigrants; builds the strength and unity of working people; keeps families together; and guarantees the same rights, obligations, and basic dignity for everyone, no matter where they come from.

Right now, 320,000 people’s lives hang in the balance. Within the coming months, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will decide whether to expel about 320,000 people from the U.S. who have been living and working legally in the U.S. for years, even decades, under Temporary Protected Status (or TPS).

If Congress doesn’t act, approximately 700,000 Dreamers will lose DACA in the next two years.  Essentially, Trump is ordering employers to lay these young people off and making it illegal for anyone else to hire them. Revoking DACA will cost the American economy hundreds of millions of dollars.

President Trump, with the help of Republicans in Congress, has launched a cruel campaign on multiple fronts to arrest and deport working moms, dads and young people who have lived here for many years, and immigrant communities are under attack.

Congress must act now, extend TPS and pass a clean Dream Act. Remind your member of Congress that immigrants are valued in our community, a part of our daily lives—our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers and our family.
