Spencer Rawlings:
Hello, my name is Spencer Rawlings, I’ve been with the Finance dept/Utility Billing for nearly 3 years and I would like to represent us in bargaining for our next contract. I want to fight for a fair and equitable contract that recognizes how important we are to the city and the services we provide. I will do my best to represent the needs of all union members to ensure we have fair pay, benefits, stability of employment, and empower our members as much as possible.Bianetth Valdez:
I would be honored to serve as part of the bargaining team. In a time where our society is facing major labor inequality and income disparity, it is important for union representation in the workplace. I would be happy to represent and advocate for my fellow union members and have a seat at the table to give our union members the fairest, most equitable contract.Nicole Langley Peralta:My name is Nicole Langley Peralta and I’m one of your librarians. I’ve worked in union jobs almost my entire working life, and I recognize how much I’ve benefited from it.  It’s about time for me to give back and get involved.  This round of bargaining we will need to take the opportunity to remove all gendered language from the contract and examine it with an equity lens, alongside the challenging work of protecting our current contract from cuts, negotiating for improvements, and clarifying language around the layoff process.  I believe we’ll all benefit from having someone from the library on our bargaining team, so please vote for one of us!  Whether or not it’s me, I will be paying attention, learning, and ready to step in as an alternate if needed.
