Higher Education Bargaining
Classified staff at Oregon’s seven state universities are taking a strike vote this week. University administration has been offering wage increases far below the actual cost of living. Too many classified workers are already unable to pay for basic living expenses without going into debt, while administration keeps closing budget gaps by underpaying the people who can least afford it. We say “enough.”
Marion County Bargaining
Marion County workers are tired of falling behind while costs continue to rise. Rising insurance premiums and inadequate wage proposals are affecting workers and the people of Marion County who rely on their services. The County has the power to avoid a strike, which would disrupt services to children and families, by settling a fair contract now.
