Last week, SEIU members settled a new contract with the City of Springfield! This campaign has lasted months, and was won because of the hard work of the members who made their voices heard through bargaining surveys, stayed in the loop by attending union meetings and fought for what they deserved at the bargaining table. Congratulations to an engaged group of bargaining team members, Andy Limbird, Molly Markarian, Casey Wilson, Meshell Bradley, Steven Petersen, Drew Larson and organizer Lisa Roberts.

Highlights include:

• The continuation of a comprehensive market study, which has resulted in excellent City wages
• The expansion of nondiscrimination protections
• Improved time off request processes
• Juneteenth as a paid holiday and an improved grievance process
