We are now meeting with management each week as we work on getting closer to winning a new contract. We convened for a virtual session this week, engaging in a back-and-forth discussion at the table for more than ten hours.

We are making headway; state management continue to make movement and we won tentative agreements on several issues:

  • A win for legacy personal support workers that allows them to be paid for all differentials and not just the PDC (stacking); and
  • A letter of agreement that allows the state to look into adding emotional support animal care as part of their work.
  • We are now waiting on a counter for our economic proposal while state management works on fiscal details. We will press for a response by the time we meet again on Tuesday, July 25th.

We will continue to meet with the state each week for as long as it takes to reach agreement on a contract that meets our needs: lifts workers’ pay, maintains benefits and lifts the hours cap.
