As you have likely heard, after 13 months of negotiations, your Bargaining Team reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with PPS management last Thursday.
Before we send you your ballot to vote, we wanted to share more details on all of the wins and progress we made in this agreement. Read on below for those highlights, and click through the links for more detailed information or read the full Tentative Agreement summary on our website.
PPS Tentative Agreement Highlights:
- Step placement on the new Nutrition Services wage scale (see below) will result in some of the largest wage increases in our Union’s history
- Longevity Premium
- Paid pandemic/isolation leave
- Healthcare for employee only part-time staff with the District paying 90% of the premium
- Inclement Weather Pay for Custodians
Union Power Wins
- Employee safety, Nondiscrimination
- Transfers and vacancies
- Grievance rights
- Attendance and sick time
- Labor Management Committee discussions now include APPA cleaning standards, temperature of the workplace, supplies, staffing, recruitment and absenteeism.
Appendix A: Nutrition Services
- July 1st, 2023 raise: 8.5% for Nutrition Services Leads and Assistants.
- July 1st, 2024 raise: 4% for Nutrition Services Leads and Assistants plus one step (+2.5%).
- July 1st, 2025 raise: 3% for Nutrition Services Leads and Assistants plus one step (+2.5%).
Appendix B: Custodians
- July 1st, 2023 Retroactive 6% raise plus a step.
- July 1st, 2024 3% raise plus a step.
- July 1st, 2025 3% raise plus a step.
