My name is Joy Vegar. I’m running for Assistant Director for Region 3. I’ve been a member of SEIU 503 for 18 years now. I’ve served on the Homecare Council and CAPE. I’m a past Co Chair of the Civil and Human Rights Committee. I’m a Homecare steward. I serve on the Women’s Council. SEIU 503 is at a major crossroad in our evolution as a union. We face serious challenges from within and without. We need to move forward in unity to meet these challenges. We need to strengthen our lines of communication with our members. We need to implement our 5 year plan. We need to continue our commitment to the Social Justice Movement. Recognizing it as a key component to ensuring that our members can continue to bargain fair contracts and live in a society that values them for their diversity and their fierce work ethic. I’m asking for your vote so that I can be a part of all that and more. Thank you.
