Hello my name is Tammy Tate Houdroge. This is an extraordinary moment in our counties history. All at once, we are grappling with a public health crisis that has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, an economic shock that has forced us to adapt on the fly, and social upheaval that has challenged all of us to think and act differently. I am working on diversifying all the council’s within 503. I have helped found the Woman of Color & would like to ask for your vote for assistant Director on the 503 board to work to make SEIU A more welcoming equitable & divers place for marginalized people. In the midst of this, the tragic killing of George Floyd, compounded by other senseless killings over the years, has sparked the expression of decades of collective anger and frustration over the unacceptable abuse of power and authority by law enforcement across the country. This pain has been felt across communities of color for years. I would like to run for the 503 board as A assistant Director .I will champion my very best intentions to help promote diversity , equity & inclusion .I am A proud African American LGBTQ2SIA woman . I am the Co chair woman of color Co Vice Chair Afram & on the Home care training trust as A trustee .I am A member of the Lavender caucus & on the Code of conduct committee & last year’s 2019 MLDP for the Lavender caucus & the 2020 MLDP for Afram . I support all people through peace & love . I know that we fought really hard in a very difficult time with so many challenges as A Union and did so with the help and efforts of everyone within our union please let’s continue to fight against entrenched racism by making SEIU A more inclusive equitable safe space.
