Our Union is the BEST! As Assistant Director for PNP, I want to support the Director in resuscitating the PNP council and in any new ideas that they may have. I want to include Rural members that are often left behind. We need to meet in rural areas or provide access to digital meetings for our members that want and deserve to participate. I want us to be involved in our communities and have get togethers that are more than just meetings. I want us to organize more of our Private Non-Profit siblings that have been contracted out for lower wages. I have been working with our Union for many years: 4 terms as President of the Parry Center for Children Sub-Local Primary steward at the Parry Center for 6 years General Council Delegate 2016, committee member General Council Delegate 2018, co-authored several resolutions that passed. Spoke at Ways and Means Roadshow on the budget crisis 2016 Staff Screening Committee and Member Organizing Committee 2016-2018 Board of Directors, Region 6 Director 2016-2018 – Executive Committee Member 2017-2018 Board of Directors, Non-Profit Sector Director – 2018-2020 – Made the motion that created the immigrant assistance fund. Chair, SEIU 503 Lavender Caucus – 2016 – present – Grew caucus from 23 members to 660+ members with regional vice-chairs and events. – Participated in 17 pride festivals our second year – Wrote to the governor about protecting trans service members under her command – Worked with the Oregon Home Care Commission to recreate a training offered to workers about Diversity and LGBTQ+ issues. – Partnered with the Red Dress PDX charity organization twice. – Have represented SEIU 503 and the Lavender Caucus at 2 regional conferences and 1 Pride @ Work Conference (AFL-CIO) Graduate of the first contingent of the SEIU 503 Leadership Academy – My cohort completed a project of freshly making and giving away free purple lemonade at the Sunday Parkways, a monthly family community biking event in Portland. Bringing good PR to our Union and cause.
