Anastasia Godsey

I have been an SEIU 503 member since 2004, organized successful State-wide campaign to get selective pay increase for APSS in 2017, and participated in MLDP NEO and Bargaining waves in 2019. Currently I am a local union steward in Hillsboro APD. I was elected as a General Council Delegate and a Bargaining Delegate in 2020. I am running for a position of Director from Human Services Coalition of DAS because I want to contribute to our union decision-making on political endorsements, stances, and resources. It is important for me to make sure the Board continues to reflect Human Services values, represent our members, and provide support to all caucuses. One of the biggest issues our union will face is overcoming the past history of unions exclusion of BIPOC and making our union a welcoming safe space where all voices can be heard. My proposal is to do a targeted outreach to underrepresented communities with the goal of their engagement and recruitment. I graduated from PILOT and was appointed to Human Rights Commission of Portland in 2008, participated in Toastmasters International in 2012, and volunteered as a mediator at Beaverton Dispute Resolution Center. I humbly ask for your vote and I hope to have the honor of representing you on the Board of Directors.
