Diana Lobo

Having had the pleasure and privilege of serving two terms as Client Employed Provider (CEP) Sector Assistant Director on our 503 Board of Directors, I am now asking Members’ support to represent All Sectors of our Union as a Region 6 Director. During my Board terms I have served on our Civil and Human Rights Committee, Stewards Committee, Lavender Caucus, Code of Conduct Implementation and Enforcement Committee, Member/Staff Resolution Work Group and our Latinx Caucus. I am not afraid of the hard work that democracy demands and believe that amplifying All Members’ voices is essential to create an anti-racist, Member lead and Member-driven Union. I believe the duty of Directors on our 503 Board is to represent the concerns and interests of All of our Members and to work together to build equitable solutions and further our interests as Workers, in constant communication among All Workers. Going into our upcoming Contract Bargaining in the covid-19 pandemic economy, we cannot afford to leave out any Member or Voice. Everyone in, no one out! As a Personal Care Assistant for 9 years, starting 2 years before we were brought into the Bargaining Unit, and as a Home Care Worker the last 8 years, I well know the value and necessity of working together in Union to improve our wages, benefits and working conditions. My experience on two Member Leadership Development Program (MLDP) terms, one for the Member Resource Center (MRC), and now starting my third term as a Home Care Council (HCC) Director for District 1 and second term on our Bargaining Team, has taught me a lot, especially about our urgent need for improved communication across all Sectors and geographic regions of our State. What I bring to our 503 Board of Directors is an uncompromising stand for full Member inclusion and equity, full access to our elected leaders by all Members across a range of formats and languages, accountability for due diligence in deliberation and all actions taken, fully accessible democracy and my authentic passion for All rights of All members of the Working Class. Nothing for us without us! SI! SE puede! Please vote for me, Diana Lobo.
