Joye Willman

I’m asking for your vote because I would like to continue working on issues important to members. Having been on the team that created Homecare Local 99, I know the hard work and dedication it takes to work on member issues and improve working conditions for members across Oregon. I want to continue to fight for better contracts and better laws to support those contracts. I want to keep up the fight . My experiences include , Creating homecare Local 99, Current 503 Board member for Client Employed Provider seat, Current Homecare Vice President, Secretary of the CAPE Board, Unions for All Delegate, Help to plan and attend Rallies, Speaking testimony in Salem , Women’s Council, Indigenous Caucus, Homecare Steward, General Council Delegate 10 times, Interviewed Candidates in Oregon and Washington D.C., U-Lead Certificate from LERC Homecare and Hospice Conference 2016/2019 Marched on Golden Gate Bridge for Healthcare, International General Council Delegate 2 times, Marched in Seattle and Portland for $15.00 minimum wage, Mentored new Members, Create a Vets Who Care Quilt for Women Vets, I want to continue to fight for justice in the Capital, in the communities, and where ever I am needed. I know we have a long way to go and some real challenges coming, but I want to make things happen. Some priorities for me are: Create a Veterans Caucus Bring in more members with diverse backgrounds so ALL members feel represented, Wage increases in our next contract, Improve members understanding of the union and how we can help them, Help create new locals to be represented, Improve on my abilities to represent our union and members everywhere. Improve our communications for all workers to stay informed and educated on issues and how to join in making a solution happen. Our struggle is real and I want to help where ever and whenever I can. Please support me by voting for Joy’e Willman.
