This is my second term as a Council Director on Sub Local 99 Homecare Council. I’ve been a Homecare Worker for approximately fifteen years, and before that I was a Foster Parent for fifteen more, taking care of my family and others in my community. I decided to get involved with the Union to support members in my district. I’ve seen many injustices with workers and consumers, taking action to correct these injustices is very important to me. Steward work and engaging with members in my district and region is my passion. I also sit on the Joint Issues Committee, PDC Workgroup, Communications Improvement Workgroup, and I have been a delegate on the General Council for two terms. I’ve also done the Member Leadership Development Program twice, engaging with members and building our membership. I would now like a seat on the SEIU 503 Board to become part of our Unions higher body. Also, assisting members with new ideas and technological challenges in this new “normal”. Transparency, accountability and change are a must. I believe in treating all people with dignity and respect, being a good listener and being open to new ideas and change. My goal is to bring current issues in Region 2 to the Board, and the most current information back to the members in Region 2.
