There has never been a greater need for the union difference. COVID-19 has laid bare the wealth and racial disparities in our nation and our state. Now more than ever, we can come together to fight for truly living wages, green new jobs here at home, healthcare for all, and retirement security. Our union is strong. We have fought for, and won, contracts that improved pay, health care, training, and more. And today, no one has fought for and protected workers more during the new virus, COVID-19, than SEIU 503. Our union quickly negotiated several Letters of Agreement detailing workplace protections, work at home policies, and appropriate leave options to support our families. Yet we must do more. As president or our union, working with you and for you, I will: Boost internal organizing to actively support our members and engage non-members Embrace the full diversity of our members to make our Union more inclusive Improve support for our member leaders throughout the state and especially rural Oregon I believe that I am the right candidate for this time in our union. I’ve been in the fight. I have served over 12 years as an elected member on our political action committee (CAPE) — supporting candidates who prioritize hard working people like us — and six years as President of the SEIU Agriculture Local 603. I currently serve on our union’s Board of Directors. I am proud to be running on the same ticket with Executive Director Melissa Unger. She knows how to win for workers.
