Kaki Marshall

Region 01: Central Valley • Marion & Polk Counties

My name is Kaki Marshall and I work at ODE as a Fiscal Analyst. I am a Delegate for Sub-Local 581, where I serve as a VP and a Delegate. I bring lived experience as a youth experiencing homelessness and 10 years of experience organizing in public service for racial equity. I have decades of experience developing and implementing programs, budgets, policies, and legislation developed in partnership with historically underserved communities.

Throughout my career I have developed and led equity initiatives at CenterPoint Inc. Building Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency, PolicyLink, TGI Justice Project, the City and County of San Francisco’s Department of Homelessness, and Portland Oregon’s Office of Equity and Human Rights. My first decade of public service was in peer led program development and management including 4 years as an exempt member of management at BOSS a Local Union #1991 IUPAT — AFL-CIO union represented workforce. I hold a master’s degree in Public Policy and have six years of experience working in government focusing on strategies to support power and voice for people historically excluded from policy development. I have worked to advance racial equity while working for the Office of Equity and Human Rights at The City of Portland, the Multnomah County Local Public Safety Coordinating Council, The San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, PolicyLink and the Oregon Department of Education. I am an active member of All of us or None, I am secretary of the board of TGI Justice Project, and on Social Justice focused Advisory Councils for the Non Profit Finance Fund and The International End of Life Doula Association. If I am elected to this position I will make it a priority to build power in our union by making sure everyone’s voice is heard.

Thank you for letting me be of service!
