Joy'e Willman

Statewide Vice President - Other Sectors

Statewide

My name is Joy’e Willman.

I am a Personal Support Worker under the Homecare contract. I am running to be the new Vice President for the Care sector and I am asking for your vote.

I believe in Respect, Equity and Union Jobs for working families. Our union is the best chance we have to build a better life for ourselves, our families, and every working family in Oregon.

When we work together, we can win better contracts, become more diverse, defend our workers, ensure the rights of our clients and all people with disabilities, create a cleaner environment, fight for affordable healthcare and all while having respect and dignity on the job wherever we work.

I was on the team that started Homecare Local 99 and I will always care about our members. The reason I joined the union is because we as Homecare workers had no rights to fight for our rights. We had no insurance, benefits or even any workers comp to depend on if injured on the job. This wasn’t right. I know the power we have when we stand together United. I have been a union member for almost 25 years now and I have done everything I can to help us grow. What I’ve learned and how I have grown is immeasurable. I know I am a better person because of the dedication and hard work we have all done to make our Care Sector a thriving part of this union. I am asking us to be the best Union we can be. I know we are now coming from a position of strength, but there is no Union without “U” so I am asking “U” to cast your vote for me for Statewide Care Sector Vice President of S.E.I.U. Local 503 Oregon Public Employees Union.
