Dear Candidate:

As you know, the Local 200 DHS/OHA sublocal election was scheduled to open on Friday, March 1. Our independent election vendor, Global Election Services (GES), uses Amazon Web Services which is experiencing an error that is interfering with launching the election. The vendor has assured us they are working nonstop to address the issue, but at this time, we do not expect it will be possible to launch the election as scheduled. We are hopeful the election will be launched early next week. Once voting opens, members will receive an email from GES via helpdesk@voteges.com with their electronic ballot information. The Union will also send an email to members to notify them that voting has opened and to look for the email from GES. We plan to extend the voting period by the same number of days of delay so that members have the same amount of time to cast their ballots despite the delayed opening.

While the vendor’s technical problem is outside of the Union’s control, we know that this is disappointing, and we are very sorry for this unexpected delay. We appreciate your patience and understanding, as well as your dedication to building our Union by running for elected positions of leadership.
