  Legislative Update: We Did It!

  Our top priority for the 2024 “short” legislative session, the Homecare Modernization Act, was adopted by the legislature and now heads to Governor Kotek to become law!

  This bill will finally address the basic human resources needs that have led to late and partial pay, not being able to talk to someone at the State when you have an issue, and difficulty find new consumers.

  Thank you to everyone who attended lobby day, contacted their lawmakers, and shared their stories to help secure this massive win.

  Sub-Local Union Elections

  SEIU 503 is a democratic, member-run union. Every two years, we elect more than 700 leaders to a variety of positions, such as the Board of Directors, sub local officers, and statewide officers. The people in these roles will shape the work of our Union over the next two years as we bargain strong contracts, represent workers, and grow.

  New Homecare/PSW Contract Available Online

  Our new homecare/PSW collective bargaining agreement is available online for download and review. Check it out here!

  The new contract is currently available in English, but will be provided in multiple other languages as well.

  Around Our Union: Addus Homecare Workers Reach a Tentative Agreement

  Congratulations to the Addus bargaining team, who has reached a settlement with Addus Management! The settlement includes immediate pay increases ranging from 4.5-8.7% retroactive to July 1, 2023, and an additional across the board 5% increase on July 1, 2024. In addition, they won a new healthcare plan, increased the CNA differential and mileage reimbursements.

  SEIU members at Addus will have a chance to vote on whether to accept this agreement next week.
