2025 Homecare Negotiations Are Around The Corner!

As our union gears up for the 2025 contract negotiations with the state of Oregon, it’s crucial that we come together as a united front. Life and Legal Insurance and More! Membership Advantages Open Enrollment Begins October 1

Supplement your free $2,500 member life insurance! You can purchase additional life insurance for you and your family without a medical review during our SEIU 503 Membership Advantages annual open enrollment, October 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024.

During this period, members can also purchase short-term disability and legal insurance. Watch your mail for detailed Open Enrollment information, and email membershipadvantages@seiu503.org with questions.

Get a Jump on Your Continuing Education Requirements

Starting March 1, 2026 current homecare workers, personal support workers, and personal care attendants will need to complete 12 hours of continuing education to renew your provider number.

Help Protect Workers from Extreme Heat

It’s September and temperatures are pushing three digits across Oregon. Last year was the hottest year on record, and this year is expected to be even hotter. That’s why the Biden-Harris administration just released the first-of-its-kind federal heat rule—a critical first step in protecting workers from the growing threat of extreme heat. If implemented, this rule would affect 36 million workers and substantially reduce heat injuries, illnesses, and deaths in the workplace. The rule is now open for comment, and we need your help to pass it! Take action now!

Rules guaranteeing workers access to rest, shade, water, and air conditioning need to be put in place and enforced to protect workers like SEIU Phoenix airport workers laboring in temps often above 110 F. It takes less than a minute to submit your official comment to OSHA and help protect millions of workers nationwide, including here in Oregon. It’s hot today and only going to get hotter. Please do your part to protect workers!
