Give Back to Those Who Served
The SEIU 503 Veterans Caucus is continuing its mission of service by organizing a Blessing Bag donation drive to support veterans experiencing homelessness.
Throughout the month, members can donate essential supplies at the SEIU 503 Portland and Salem offices. The collected items will be assembled into Blessing Bags and distributed to veterans experiencing homelessness during the Round Up at the YMCA in Salem on September 2.
The Veterans Caucus is dedicated to advocating for and supporting Oregon veterans, military families, active-duty service members, National Guard members, Reservists, and their allies. Through community outreach and volunteer service, the caucus works to ensure veterans have access to resources, support, and opportunities to thrive.
Requested Donation Items
The Veterans Caucus is collecting:
- New socks
- Travel-size toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Travel-size hand sanitizer
- Granola or protein bars
- Bandages and antibiotic ointment
- Travel-size shampoo and conditioner
- Small bars of soap
- Travel-size deodorant
- Lip balm
- Peanut butter or cheese crackers
- Gum or hard mints
- Bottled water
- Tea or hot cocoa packets
- Tuna pouches (not cans)
Please bring donations by August 25 so volunteers have time to assemble the Blessing Bags before distribution.
