Higher Ed Bargaining Shakes up OSU Campus

Higher Ed

The Higher Ed bargaining team met with management this week on March 30 and 31 at Oregon State University (OSU) for another two days of bargaining. OSU workers showed up for the rally and were joined by the OSU student workers union and the OSU faculty union. The team truly felt the support from all these groups, and the sound of solidarity was hard to ignore on campus! Watch the video here.

OSU’s outgoing sublocal president Russ Born spoke and introduced president elect Jax Johnson. 503’s president, Johnny Earl, fired up the crowd as he discussed the affordability crisis that Oregonians are feeling everywhere. This hit home, as many OSU classified staff can’t afford to live in Corvallis and must commute from surrounding towns.

The next bargaining session takes us out of the Willamette Valley to OSU’s Bend campus. We’ll have more details soon.
