July 1 Homecare Wage Updates

Great news – on July 1, the State of Oregon will review all care providers’ hours to determine if there have worked enough to qualify for a step increase. Eligible workers who have put in 2,000 regular hours since last summer will see their wages increase to the next step, effective the first payroll period after July 1 (for most workers, that will be in the August paycheck).

This is not an across-the-board raise for every care provider. Whether you receive a step increase depends on your individual hours and where you currently are on the wage scale.

There is also good news for providers with a Professional Development Certification, or PDC. Beginning the first full pay period after July 1, 2026, the PDC differential increases from $0.75/hour to $1.25/hour for eligible providers who meet the certification requirements.

Better wages are the result of the hard work of SEIU Local 503 homecare bargaining teams who fought for them over the last few contracts, and the thousands of members who stepped up, shared their stories, rallied, and supported that work. When we fight, we win real improvements for providers and the people we care for.

Check your paystub after the July changes take effect (August paycheck for most workers) and contact your union steward or call the SEIU 503 Member Assistance Center at 1-844-503-SEIU (7348) if you believe your pay is incorrect.
