Marion County Workers Deliver Bargaining Petition at Budget Hearing

The Marion County Employees Association is currently bargaining a new contract and yesterday they showed up to deliver the hundreds of signatures from their bargaining petition at the Board of Commissioners budget session.

Workers who showed up were decked out in their union blue and while member leader Chris Rutter spoke, another member presented a large placard that included their demands for a fair contract along with the signatures. Chris had this to say, “Investing in County employees is an investment in the community. A stable, supported workforce reduces turnover, preserves institutional knowledge, and leads to better outcomes for the people we serve.”
