Marion County Workers Show Up to Commissioners Meeting
Workers at Marion County have taken another step in escalating their campaign for a fair contract. On June 10th, dozens of members showed up at the regularly scheduled Board of Commissioners meeting to express their discontent with the lack of movement from the management bargaining team. Their biggest fights are affordable healthcare benefits and higher COLAs.
Marion County Employees Association (MCEA) Vice President Amanda Farrar spoke to the board and made the situation clear. “The decisions are on you, and we will continue to share our message that employees deserve cost of living increases that keep up with inflation and healthcare coverage premiums that we can afford.” Watch Amanda’s full speech at the 2-minute mark here.
