Marion County workers vote to strike

Local Government (City, County, School District)

Bargaining ended today without management offering anything new, and with no more bargaining dates scheduled. The county still plans to implement its most recent offer on September 13, without agreement from our union bargaining team. Our vote is now over: Marion County members have voted to authorize a strike.

Strike benefits

The SEIU 503 board is voting this week to approve strike benefits and hardship fund disbursements for MCEA. Only union members are eligible to receive strike benefits. Sign up today to ensure you will be eligible.

Stay in the loop for critical bargaining updates

Don’t miss critical updates during a fast-moving campaign. Make sure you are opted in for texts and emails at your personal (not just work) email. If the County shuts down access to work email during a strike, make sure you aren’t left out of time-sensitive communications.

Expect to hear from members and organizers over the next few weeks with more information and to engage you in the campaign. Review the FAQ on our website and reach out to your organizer if you have any questions.

In solidarity,

Your MCEA Bargaining Team
