Back in May, Carewell SEIU 503 Training launched Online Orientation to assist new homecare and personal support workers to complete their required orientation from home while social distancing measures are in place. In the months of May and June, the Carewell Training team has trained 716 workers, and 426 workers have completed the training so far.

When surveyed about the most significant thing learners took away from the Orientation, there were lots of positive responses. One worker said, “I learned all the necessary rules and precautions to take in order to protect myself and provide the best care to my consumer.” Another said, “There were so many key things I learned in the orientation. I am so thankful that everyone that takes care of a person or child [is] required to go through orientation.”

The Carewell SEIU 503 Training team received positive feedback from workers through the Online Orientation discussion board as well. According to this worker,  “I was hoping to attend a live class, but COVID-19 isolation started as I came on board. I’ve been waiting to take classes for a while and it’s so wonderful that you were able to adapt to the current circumstances.”

The Carewell SEIU 503 Training team is committed to delivering meaningful learning to workers across the state, no matter the circumstances.  The team is excited and ready to offer in-person training when it is safe to do so. Click here to learn more. We look forward to seeing you in class soon!
