In a big win for members last week, the Parry Center reached agreement on a Successor Contract! This was not an easy fight, but the team did great work at keeping the employer from derailing progress at the table, and at organizing workers to show up at every single bargaining session. These actions pushed management to do the right thing, and enabled members to get everything they possibly could from this contract, resulting in major victories for Parry Center workers.

Here are a few highlights of the new contract:

  • Skills trainers will receive a 10.25% COLA in July and another $2.00 starting November 7th! All other employees will receive a 10.25% increase on November 7th. June 22, 2022, June 22, 2023, and June 22, 2024 all employees will receive 2% increases with a small group of under market positions receiving 2.5%.
  • They were able to increase many differentials that already existed and won three new differentials for swing shift, weekends, and bilingual skills.
  • Workers at the Parry Center are regularly injured on the job and for the first time they will have employer paid leave for injuries. They will have the remainder of their shift paid when they are injured and cannot continue to work. Under certain circumstances, they can have two additional days paid to recover.
  • They won stronger language on the training they will receive before working with the units and continued training to ensure that they can limit injuries and work more effectively.
