Demarest, Steve – Retiree: Candidate for Director

Hello Retirees. I’m enthused about the opportunity to represent you as a Director on our Union’s Board of Directors, and to bring our voice to the governing body that administers the affairs of the union we care about and are committed to. I commit, if elected, to faithfully attending Board meetings, actively participating in the meetings, and reporting back to you. I will regularly attend Retiree Local meetings to give reports and to get input. I will also be glad to send emails or texts to anyone who wants updates that way. I will work with the Retiree Assistant Director so that we are an effective team for you. (I endorse Betty Holladay for that position.)
I have been a Board member as a Director, 503 President, and Immediate Past President. I continue to attend Board meetings as a Union member. I continue to be actively involved in the Union by serving on committees, and I always attend General Council. I have the experience to be an effective Director. I am a CAPE contributor. I believe SEIU 503 is the greatest non-government force for good in Oregon. I am proud of it and of the Retiree Local.
