Farrar, Amanda – Marion County: Candidate for Director
I am running for Director because I believe strong leadership starts with listening, being present, and standing alongside our members. Our union is strongest when every member feels heard, respected, and empowered to have a voice in the decisions that affect our workplaces and our future.
In this role as a Director, I will work to strengthen communication, support our stewards, and advocate for fair contracts, safe working conditions, and the respect every worker deserves. I understand the challenges our members face because I have experienced them firsthand, and I know that meaningful change happens when we stand together and organize with purpose.
I am committed to transparency, accountability, and building a culture where members are informed, engaged, and encouraged to participate. I believe every member has valuable ideas and deserves representation that is accessible, responsive, and focused on results.
Together, we can continue building a stronger union that protects our rights, invests in member development, and prepares us for challenges ahead. I would be honored to serve as your Director and earn your trust through hard work, integrity, and collaboration.
Throughout my union journey, I have had the privilege of serving as a Union Steward, a member of the Bargaining Team, a participant on the Labor-Management Committee, and currently as your Vice President. Each of these roles has strengthened my understanding of the challenges our members face and reinforced my commitment to advocating for fair treatment, safe workplaces, and strong contracts.
