Fletcher, Gary – State APD: Candidate for Director
Greetings All,
In my past, I have been an elected member of several community and private governing boards of directors: Legal Aid of Western Missouri, Neighborhood Reinvestment, to name a few. I bring experience to this position from these boards.
In the near past, I was elected Assistant Director and then District Director of District 9, Douglas County. Served as State Personal Support Worker Chief Steward SEIU 503 OPEU. Currently, I am both a Personal Support Worker and a Home Care Worker. Formerly a Foster Parent with the Oregon State and the State of Missouri. Both licenses were for infants to age 18 plus Behaviors—emergency placements. Assisted in forming a community neighborhood group with city involvement. OSHA Compliance officer with the federal government. (College degree). Industrial Management Degree. Presently the SEIU Veterans Caucus member-Treasurer. Parent of challenged adult children. Dog Owner.
I believe that we could use some different and inspiring input from new members on the board.
I believe the goals of our Union are to improve situations and issues in assisting members by obtaining positive results through unity of common interests and goals. Working together as a common unit to accomplish positive results.
I believe that through positive communication and education of personnel, we can achieve these goals.
I'm involved, of course, with the SEIU 503 Veterans Caucus. I coach Special Olympics basketball and golf. I am a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and NRA. I ride an Indian and BMW motorcycle. I support a diversified and equal opportunity environment.
Additionally, I know my elected political officials. I vote as I see the issues to be. I am a registered and active voter. Sometimes a sense of humor.
In Unity,
Gary Fletcher
