Gomez, Adelina Umana – State APD: Candidate for Assistant Director

My name is Adelina Umana Gomez. I am running as Assistant Director for Region 5 to represent Eastern and Central Oregon at our Union SEIU 503 Board. I am asking you to VOTE FOR ME!

I am a homecare worker for my son who requires 24/7 care. I have been a union member for the past 5 years. I am serving for the second time as Homecare Council director representing homecare/Personal Support and PCAs workers in Umatilla and many other counties in the Northern/Eastern part of Oregon. A Homecare Council director I have been playing a critical role in planning and facilitating monthly union meetings as well as helping members, especially those whose primarily language is Spanish, with many issue they face such as understanding their benefits, rights they have as homecare workers, and guiding them to where they can get support to resolve their issues. I am not afraid to stand up and speak up in the fight to protect funds for consumers and homecare workers. As union member-leaders in rural Oregon it is very important to me we have a strong Union to protect our benefits and rights. Besides caring for my son and doing Union work, I love to cook food, especially Oaxaca cuisine and write.
